Dancing lemursOur first night in Galway, we stayed at a run down B&B with the tiniest bathroom in the world. It did have a shower, sort of. The idea was to close the door and then the whole bathroom was a shower. It seemed like the towels and toilet paper would get wet—not to mention that water would likely run out into the room, since there was a gap between the door and the tile floor—so we skipped it and stayed somewhere else the next day. I might not have figured out the shower situation at all if I didn't remember Travel Bug talking about a similar setup at a place in Spain.Anyhow, while brushing and flossing that night, I heard Jesse giggling. A lot. I stepped out of the tiniest bathroom to see what was going on. He was watching a nature documentary with Stephen Fry. They were in Madagascar, searching for the aye-aye lemur. On the way, they saw some dancing lemurs, which might be the happiest looking species on the planet. They don't walk anywhere. They are sitting still, climbing trees, or dancing. Now that I think of it, I probably like them so much because that's about how I dance.

Scene from workOne of my co-workers walked into my office and waved his hands to get my attention. As I took my headphones off, he leaned on the desk and said, "I need something small from you."I hunted around my desk, found a coaster, and handed it to him.
He pocketed it and left.

Sheep! This might be my favorite of the photos I took in Ireland:

Well, shootHere it is, half way through October, and I still haven't gotten any photos posted from our trip to Ireland. Fear not, it's on my to do list, which is only about six miles long at this point. It's a pretty relaxed affair, though, this list of mine. Of late, I haven't been stressing out about any of it, instead reminding myself that any small progress I make on any one thing gets me closer to completion. It helps to be distracted. My new passion is a sock I'm knitting. It has been taking up my time since Wednesday, when my sock knitting class commenced. It's going to be lovely. I'll make an empty promise to post a photo of my sock soon, too, knowing that you won't likely hold me to it and I may or may not actually follow through. Monday, I start a writing class, so I'll have two classes a week for a couple of weeks whilst sock knitting and scribbling overlap.
Lately, I've been getting up early and doing some writing in the morning. I heard about "Morning Pages" a couple of years ago in a class I took. The concept is from a book called The Artist's Way, which I haven't read. I can't decide whether or not I do want to read it—it sounds like there are some valuable ideas in there, but it also seems to contain more self-help and religion than I am willing to wade through. At any rate, I'm liking the Morning Pages. Mostly I've written a lot of nonsense, but I do have the beginnings of a story that might even go somewhere. It could conceivably turn into a NaNoWriMo novel this year. I am awash in possibilities... if only I had the free time to go with them!
